Wanting to meet mums/friends in Cambridge

Hi all, I've just moved to Cherry Hinton from London a few months ago. I work in the week and then on weekends I look after my partners son (he's 6). Haven't had much luck meeting people, would love to meet mums or just women to form new friendships. I'm 28, hoping to be a mum this/next year.

Also if anyone could suggest any classes to meet people I've looked online but not had much luck.

Hi, am quite near you but older, ahem, mid-forties. I have met people through hobbies, church and school. I know Cambridge has quite a young and trendy WI (!). Going to parks you may meet people if he plays with their kids, eg the sandpit at Cherry Hinton Hall park is always the place to be at the weekend. Good luck!

I'd recommend trying to make friends with your ds friends parents. Invite some over one at a time for a play date and invite the mum for coffee.

I hear great things about the branches of the WI in Cambridge, my friend said she tried a couple before she settled on the one she now attends. She has made a really good group of friends, I can't remember which branch it is though. She said they all have a different feel to them.
