Roade Village

Hi Ladies....I am new to Mumsnet and need some help. There is a new development going up in Roade called Abbey Place...It is on Ashton Road going out to Ashton on the right. We are very keen to buy there but have noticed the train tracks running along side of it. Does anyone live either in or close to Roade that can tell me how busy it is? The last thing we want to do it buy and be sorry later. The house we are looking at buying...there will be another hpuse behind us, then a road and another house, a pond and then the rail tracks. So, not too close but just worried that the sound will carry...Please help

Is that the main track into London?

Unfortunately yes it is....

Look at the time table and see how many trains use it.

I'd also go and sit there for a while.

Take into account the times you'll be at home as it may be off peak times so will be quieter

Thanks again for your advice NorthantsLass...I have been back to the area a few times at different times of the day and have decided although we love the little home and it has everything we want, the trains have spoilt it for us and we are not going to buy there. We are disappointed but feel it is the right decision. The search continues...
