Hi all

We've just moved outside Loughborough with our six-month-old to follow my partner's job, but our new place is in a sprawling residential area and I'm struggling to suss out what's around.

Would love some tips on where to go and what to do, please, and especially to chat to some other local mummas. Equally at home sharing baby poo horror stories as I am taking a break from convos about the scandal that is Pando from Bing's shorts while pretending that I don't have old Calpol stuck in my hair Wine.

Thanks!

I don't live in Loughborough, but north of it, and used to go to some great classes in Loughborough when DD3 was younger.

Tiny Talk is a baby signing class with session in Loughborough (at Tesco) and in Rothley/Woodhouse. These are good because there's 40 minutes of singing/signing then 15-20 minutes of tea/coffee socialising. I met some nice friends there.

If you fancy being a little more active, there's Zest 4 life which is run by Jo which is a specialist ante/post natal fitness instructor. She does various pilates type classes you can take your baby along to, and also does outdoor buggy fit classes in Beacon Hill. Again I met some great parents there.

Most of these shut down over the summer so you're in a good position to sign up to something when they start back in the next few weeks.

Would highly recommend both the above

here you go - Bouncing back is great until your baby starts to crawl, then it gets a little tricky to keep them contained! I loved buggy babies, did it until dd3 was 15 months (and very heavy to push!)

Hello Katietails, I'm not far from the Woodthorpe area, there are some nice walks and cafes around, hope you are settling into the area ok?

katietails · 12/09/2016 11:04

Thanks Blowninonabreeze! I'll definitely take a look.

Hi Disco1980, just trying to suss out where the best walks are - any tips? Settling in okay, and the people at Tiny Talk seem lovely. Just trying to find weigh-in clinics and coffee mornings. Don't suppose you know where I can find up to date Sure Start info? Thought I'd come across some, but it was dated 2011! Blush

The Outwoods and the Beacon are both really nice, and swithland woods and bradgate park are worth the effort and have some nice cafes close by.
Sure start I think might be in the library, have a look here www.charnwoodbras.co.uk/?page_id=246 not sure if it's what you've already looked at though :)
