Have you been there recently? I hadn't been for a few years and was shocked just how tatty it was and we were done in an hour - went to March Farm which my daughter loved and then to Shaw Farm - the refurbishment is lovely and we loved the open spaces.

Tropical Wings always seems very expensive for a visit which we struggle to spin out past lunchtime. But then again I haven't dared visit Marsh Farm since Partyman World took over, my DCs used to love it and I have a lot of happy memories I want to keep intact. But we have RHS membership so we usually go there if we are in the area, lots of activities and as it is free (as members) I don't begrudge popping in for an hour or two.

We haven't been to Shaw Farm (where is it?) nor been to Marsh Farm for many years (but was good when the DC were little) but we always head to Colchester Zoo when the DC suggest seeing animals - far better value for a full day out, IMO. Or Lathcoates Farm in Galleywood for pick your own fruits and a fab (free !) little area of farm animals and ride on tractors.
