Where can I buy a tortoise?

I would love to get a tortoise but know that they can be difficult to buy, and I want to be sure that I get one from a reputable breeder/pet centre. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences they could share? Tia.

There is a reptile and fish shop in Knaphill that is a good place to start.

Also the reptile centre at Clandon Park might have one. Think a friend bought one from there before.
