Mid Sussex Play Days

Hi,

I work for Mid Sussex District Council and we're hosting three Play Days in August to give local children (and parents) some fun activities to enjoy during the school holidays. We'd like to get as many local people along as we can and it would be great if you could help us to spread the word by telling your friends and family about the events.

All the activities are free and we'll be hosting three Play Days at:

  • Victoria Park in Haywards Heath from 11am until 3pm on Weds 3 August
  • St John’s Park in Burgess Hill from 11am until 3pm on Thurs 4 August
  • King George’s Field in East Grinstead from 11am until 3pm on Weds 10 August

The theme this year is the Olympic Games in Rio so there will be track and field games, including foam javelin throwing, standing long jump, mini hurdles and the 25m sprint. Winners will get to stand on an Olympic style podium to receive their medals!

We'll have a fancy dress competition for children aged under the age of 11, so if you come along dressed in your finest Rio Carnival costume there's the chance to win some fabulous prizes be part of a huge carnival procession at the end of the day.

There will be Samba dancing and drumming workshops throughout the day and children will get a chance to show off their new moves in the Samba procession.

Creative children will also be able to make their own Olympic torches and carnival head dresses so why not bring along some recycling from home and join in?

It's going to be great fun so I hope to see lots of local people there. Please put a date in your diaries if you can.
