Banchory schools help

Hi, We are (hopefully) moving to Banchory soon. I have two primary aged boys who are currently in P4 and P2. My elder son has autism and while he is mainstream school needs a bit of help and support at times. Please does anyone have experience of the two primary schools in Banchory and what they are like? If you have any knowledge of additional needs support that would be even better. Thanks :-)

Hi, welcome to Banchory! We have been here 8 years or so. Our 3 have gone through Banchory Primary, ds is about to go into P4, the other 2 are into secondary now.
We have had no problems with the school and all the children have been happy there. I like the head, Mrs Fernandez, who took over a couple of years ago, she has been very helpful whenever we've had problems. There is a good atmosphere and plenty of things going on.
There are children with additional needs in the school so they do have experience of autistic children in their classes. I do not have personal experience of it though and couldn't say how their parents feel. I haven't heard any complaints.
The other school is Hill of Banchory which is a new school. I don't have experience of it, haven't heard anything bad about it though!
Banchory is a nice place to live, with plenty going on for the children, we have been very happy here. Hope your move goes well. I'm sure both schools will be happy to show you around.

Hi lulu. Did you make the move? How are you finding the schools?

I know this is an old post but would be great to hear from the OP with an update on how things went! We are considering a move to the area too and keen to find out about the schools, primary and secondary.
