Hi, I am moving to the Wakefield area soon (close to the hospital). Please can someone advice me on the state schools I should opt for (both primary and secondary). It has to be good/outstanding as well as the behaviour of pupils matters the most. Please help me as I am loosing sleep over it!!! Confused

Hi

I was wondering if you had any luck with this?

petamac, which area are you looking at?

Dane Royd in Hall Green is brilliant and I hear good things about West Bretton too. The children from Kettlethorpe High School seem pretty good too.

Have just spotted this! We're just over the border in Kirklees but I have worked in Wakefield. Ossett school has a really good reputation in Wakefield, but is obviously a way from town centre and hugely oversubscribed. Thomas a Becket is the Catholic school which again has a good reputation. I think that Outwood Grange will be your closest secondary - to be honest I haven't heard such great things especially since it became part of a massive academy trust but have no personal experience. Feel free to message me if you have any local questions!

Hi we are moving to wakefield and I was wondering if anyone can suggest any good small size secondary schools in the area besides St Thomas?I heard Rodillian academy is quite good but the teachers are very strict and give detentions for minor things? Thanks!
