Telford - Best route to get to from the Midlands

We've got an event to go to on Friday at the Ice Arena in Telford. Coming From Nottingham - what's the best route anyone recommend? Im not a great driver so need a straight forward easy route

If you aren't driving at rush hour the best route is:
Down the M1, on to A42/M42 at j23a, off M42 at j10 on to A5 past Tamworth. Join M6 toll, at end of toll road get on A460 to join the M54. Get off M54 at junction 5.
If rush hour - check Google before you set off for the best route to the toll road.

If you don't want to do the toll road you can get on the A5 at Tamworth and follow that all the way to Telford.

Or follow the A5 until it crosses the A449 at Gailey. Turn left onto the A449 to get you onto the M54 and I would get off at Junction 4 and follow the A464 (saves you having to negotiate the shopping centre).
