Cable, Phone, Etc

We are moving to the area next month (yay) from the US. Just looking for some information on cable companies, electric, gas, and anything else you might want to suggest. We will be living in Friern Barnet as our child will be attending Dwight. Thanks!

Evidently only EE has service for high speed internet and cable for our address. Any info or experience with them?

If EE can offer high speed then BT must too (high speed (fibre) infrastructure is provided by Openreach which is a division of BT). EE is a mobile/cell provider so would be surprised if they were the only ones offering this.

Also, the deal that is best for you depends on what package you need, for example some TV channels are only available with certain cable / satellite providers. Regarding mobiles, try to find out which provider has good coverage. I'm local to you and get poor O2 service, and DH gets good EE service. But it was the other way round up the road. For energy you will initially need to use whoever currently supplies the property, then use USwitch or similar if you want to find a better deal.

If you don't have cable in the area you can get a dish, we do with Sky

A dish!! Did not even think of that! Evidently we can't do much until we have a UK bank account. Sigh..... Thanks everyone
