Stroud grammar schools

Hello Smile! Our ds will start y7 at Marling School in September. Our current plan is for him to catch a train from Parkway - Swindon - Stroud, to see how he could cope with this (we may have to move). I wonder if there are kids attending grammar schools in Stroud using similar travel arrangements, and what other parents think of this - is this feasible? Many thanks!

Hi, Have your son started travelling to Stroud. My daughter has got in Stroud High. How is the travel, is that manageable or have you relocated.

@clarejn would that not be 3-4 hours return commute daily from Bristol? That's an awful journey for an 11 year old. I've nit heard if anyone from Bristol commuting to the Gloucester or stroud grammars

@newme. yes it will be if she were to travel from Bristol. It seems there is one boy travelling from Bristol to Marling. But then I dont see that going on for long. We would have to relocate if we did get admission.

Hi there, I see Clarejn your daughter is in Stroud High, do you know what the junior/primary school would be that is close by to Stroud High/recommended in the area? I need to find a particularly nuturing school for my 9yr old. She has dyslexia and is behind a bit. Also is your daughter finding Stroud High? Would love to hear.
