Trafford primary independent schools - help!

Dear moms, my DS turned 2 this Feb and I have (this week) registered him for 3+ at APS (2017), 4+ at Hale Prep School (2018) and 4+ at St.Ambrose (2018). I am worried that I have left it till too late as now I understand that to get places in independent schools you have to put your child's name down at birth! Any advise insight if you have you DS/DD in any of the above will help. Do I stand any chance at any of the above? Thanks in advance

I have no personal experience at all as my DC went to local Hale schools but when chatting to a mum of DS's friend she mentioned that her son had started at Hale Prep after being at a Boden school for a year. So she would have applied when he was 5 or 6.
