Fostering in Cumbria

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone could help.
We are looking to foster and hooping for young children....babies or toddlers to fit best with our own family.
Although it's obviously not about the money, I will be giving up a good job to foster, and the LA don't pay a fee until after the first twelve months. This makes it almost impossible financially?!
Anyone fostering with an agency in Cumbria?
Any recommendations ?!

I'm surprised that the la don't pay a fee for 12 months... Where were you told that?
I'm a SW in LAC team, it's my experience that LA's prefer to use in house foster careers rather than agencies as they are much cheaper for LA and it's easier for LA with in house SSW etc.

Family foster care are truly fabulous. Local authority do pay though, not sure where you heard they dont?
