Secondary school places in HITCHIN

Hello can any one please provide information about secondary school catchment in Hitchin. We recently bought a house in st Michael's area SG40 post code. My DS starting Y6 this September. Is there any chance he can get in to Hitchin boys school??. .....Any info will be really apprenticed . Thanks in Advance.

If you're applying for a Y7 place at the correct time and it;s your nearest school, then your chances are very good. If it's your nearest school, you will be given top priority after siblings, with places allocated by distance from the school. Admissions arrangements here

If it's not your nearest school, it;s still possible as you are in the Hitchin parish, but will depend on the number for whom it is the nearest school, who else is nearer than you and the number of places taken up by the villages in the priority area - more of a gamble. I guess you also have Highfield in Letchworth and the Priory in North Hitchin as back up options.
