Advice on catchment areas in Histon and impington

I'm thinking of moving into the area due to good schools but no idea how wide catchment areas are. Not done this before... Any ideas? Particularly interested in Histon and impington infant and junior schools but also the good secondaries. Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance! Smile

Have you looked at the LEA stuff which tells you to what point on the priority list the school filled, and how far away the furthest place was?

There will be similar reports for secondary.

The distance where children get into the school changes from year to year - I know that the cottenham end of histon didn't get in one year - but i think the school has expanded since then. For secondaries will again depend but realistically you don't have massive amount of choice - especially if you want them get there under their own steam

If we move to central Histon, will our little ones get into the local primary and Impington secondary?

There are now 2 primaries - histon and Impington brook school (used to be the junior school) and histon and Impington park school (formerly the infant school, but now in a new building cottenham end of the village). Both are good. The brook school is outstanding I believe. You will get in if you live in Histon, but worth emailing the schools to find out the process. The secondary is very good and all local kids from the brook and park schools will be offered places.

Thank you so much for this :-)
