Calling all pregnant feminists!

I'm doing a piece of comedy/performance art called goo:ga at the Brighton Fringe on May 8... I won't post the link for tickets here, because that would constitute advertising which is a no-no on Mumsnet, but it's easy to find if you look for it on the Komedia website.

Here's where you come in: The show is all about resisting postfeminist fetishisation of the bump, and the painful gender-coding of babies that begins WELL before they've even been born, and turns into full on gendered socialisation once they are born. On this thread, I'd love to hear any stories you have about resisting either the bullshit narratives fed to pregnant people about their bodies, or the insipid 'blushing pink girl/bruising blue boy' binary.

The show is also about what's funny about pregnancy in general. particularly from a queer/feminist perspective so please share anything at all from your journey. It would be great to see a sea of laughing pregnant Brightonians out there on the day, and I can't wait to hear your stories of fighting the patriarchy in defence of your bump.
