Guides and Scouts in Bristol

Hello, we are moving back to Bristol this summer.

My daughter will be attending Badminton school Y8 and I wondered if anyone knew if there was a girl guides pack that girls from the school tend to join?

Many thanks!

Girls attend badminton from all over the local area so some will attend their local pack rather than one near the school. The boarders may attend a local pack, school could probably tell you. Sea cadets etc are also quite popular in Bristol.

You could ask, but the experience with my dd and her friends is that they join when they are 10 or 11 either Y5 or Y6 and most of them have left by the time they reach Y8. The maximum age for Guides is 14 years old and there are very few Senior section groups for 14+ year olds.
A significant number of dds friends have transferred from Brownies to Scouts and then onto Eagle Scouts aged 14.
Becoming a cadet does seem to be popular in Bristol. Another popular option is joining the St John's ambulance cadets.

thank you both for your help - I will look into alternative cadets as well.
