private schools in sevenoaks

We're moving to Sevenoaks this summer. My two younger sons have been offered places at a few diff private schools... Solefield, Combe Bank, and Sevenoaks Prep (they were offered at New Beacon, as well, but we have decided against). Any advice / insights on any of these schools? The boys would enter Year 4 and Year 8 (I know elder would only do one year at all but Combe Bank, but it's one step at a time! :D). Thanks so much in advance!

Forgot to say that the children are mixed race, so ideally looking for a school with an international feel. Academics, sport, and music are all important, but I've gotten the feeling that all schools in Sevenoaks are good in these regards.

I know boys at Solefield and Sevenoaks prep, very happy with it. I have just moved my dd from Combe Bank but I am sure that things will improve under the new head there. He has a good record with Radnor House.

Thank you. Do you know advantages of Solefield vs Sevenoaks Prep and vice versa? My husband saw both schools while on a trip there, and he liked both schools, including both headmasters. It's hard to choose between them, other than all boys vs. co-ed. Is Sevenoaks not as academic? Or are they the same? Thanks!

It's not seen as so academic but that's only local reputation which can be very fickle. I think it also depends if you are intending to use state or private from year nine?

we're in process of applying to 13+ sevenoaks, but we won't know results until end of May. I've been told that we can't try for state if we don't apply straight away (we're currently overseas). not sure what we'll do if we don't get sevenoaks... may have to switch to combe bank (hoping one year on things will be more settled).
