Hello, I currently live in east London with DH and as were planning a family, I'm really thinking a lot about our next move to hopefully buy a house. We both work in central London full time and so need to be close to London, could someone tell me about the commute from St. Albans to London? Also, is it a nice area to live in with children? I would like to live somewhere with a nice variety of things to do and sense of community thanks!

St. Albans commute is very easy as we have a "fast train" on thameslink with st pancreas being the first stop

It's a very family friendly area and there is lots to do for people of all ages

The schools are generally all very good and if you like eating out, there are loads of fantastic restaurants

Hi wicked girl, thanks so much for all your insight! And may I ask are the trains reliable? Thanks!

The trains are generally pretty reliable although parking at the station is expensive. We LOVE it here, moved here from London to raise our family and have no regrets.

Most of DS's school friends have at least one parent who works in London like us- a huge group of us actually walk up to the station together after dropping them off at Breakfast club!
