Checking area for possible move

I'm looking at somewhere in Newcastle. It's in Longbenton/Benton (?) and south of the Quorum Business Park and in the housing immediately south of the Longbenton Community College.

We're on the other side of the country and are considering going up to look at it, obviously, but would just like some feedback on the area, if possible, before making the trip.

Schools are not a huge issue as my dcs are home educated. I have a car, but am always aware of the possibility of needing public transport, so am hoping it's good there as well.

I live quite near here and remember when we moved I decided to save a bit extra to buy the other side of salters road which is in Gosforth. There are some houses on Cheswick drive which have been on sale a while which may accept low offers. Longbenton estates were traditionally quite deprived council estates, they have improved somewhat over the years. I don't think they will be used to homeschooling there though! Hope this helps. Pm. Some areas of Longbenton are quite nice. However I would consider looking at Benton, and Killingworth also.
