St Martins Girls School Tulse Hil

Hello all :)

My sister got an offer for St Martins Girls which we did not pick at all.

I have heard academically the school is on the decline. We want a school which would support my sister as her primary school has not been the best for that too.

Additionally, the school is not very mixed (racially, areas where the students are from and personalities of students) and I went to a school nearby. We overall saw the girls there were very rude, obnoxious and loud. My sister has had past experiences of bullying too so I do not know if this school would help or make it worse.

Could I have some honest experiences of people who have a girl there or studied there before?

Thank you so much :)

I don't know anything specific about St Martin's, but in terms of your preferred schools have you made sure you are on the waiting lists of all the schools you did want?

People often get places in their top choices later in the summer. Do you love reasonably close to the schools you applied to?

Have you tried schools like City Heights that are still new so people might not be putting them high up their lists?

Do also ask for advice on the main Mumsnet site because lots of Lambeth posters post there.

In the mean time you do need to accept the place at St Martins because otherwise she might end up with no place at all. Accepting the place does not put you at any disadvantage for applying for waiting list places at other schools.

What was the first choice, if you feel comfortable to say, and what area , roughly, of the borough do you live in?
