Hello,

We are relocating to cambridge in a few weeks from the Middle East. I was just wondering if anyone could advise if I would be mad to consider driving from toft to St. John's college school? I keep reading that traffic in cambridge is terrible :-( as I don't want to spend hours in the car everyday with a newborn who hates her car seat.

Thank you :-)

I work on West Cambridge. I don't come in from that direction myself, but I know some of my colleagues are used to crawling along from Madingley Hill onwards towards town. Alternatively you can go Barton Rd route, but I also know people who say that traffic from Barton towards town is slow in the mornings. So chances are, yes, it will be a bad drive.

Hideous I would think - someone was telling me she got the park and ride from Madingley road and took forever -even worse than the drive from Trumpinton to the Perse that was advised against recently - but at least you could cycle as an alternative for that route. I always say this but the state primary schools are pretty good - if you have an address you can apply now. If secondary eg 11 up then Comberton is excellent
