Help! Commuting from Langton Green

Hi, I'm new to Tunbridge Wells and am considering moving to a house in the village of Langton Green, just outside the town. My main concern is how practical it will be to commute to London from there given how congested TW is. Buses seem to be unreliable but I was told it's easy to drive up the Speldhurst Road and across to High Brooms, where you can park for free.

The only complicating factor is my DD is at St James school in central TW (don't ask!). Does anyone know how viable it would be to get there, drop her off and then head to HB each morning or am I entering a world of pain?

Thanks!
