Venue recommendations for small family get together in Worcester?

Hi,

I am planning a get together with family for my babies first birthday.
I'm not from Worcester but my in laws live there and cannot travel far due to age and disability so we thought we'd go to them.

Please can anyone recommend an accessible family friendly pub or cafe in Worcester city that might be happy to provide afternoon tea / cake and sandwiches for a group of about 14 adults a baby and a couple of kids? I know Worcester a little bit from visiting over the years but can't think of anything that fits the bill. Thanks!

Hi there,
I posted your question on the facebook page and have had the following suggestion:
"I've been impressed with Coffee Warehouse lately - nice and spacious for pushchairs, easy to get in, very friendly owner etc. It's opposite McDonalds on Foregate St station"
Might be worth a call?
:-)

When you say Worcester city do you mean actually mean spank bang in the middle?

If not, I was thinking about the Orchard Cafe at the Countryside Centre. Between J6 & J7 of M5. Free parking and there is the outdoor play area if the kids get fed up. Not sure if they would cordon off an area.

Cakes re gorgeous.

I've never posted on a Mums net site before so I hope I've done this right.
I am just about to move into the area ( on Easter week end) to the out skirts of Kidderminster & was hoping I could get recommendations to some nice restaurants, take aways & local pubs. I'm also looking for a handy man/ garden clearance as I will need help in my new house & garden.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Kidderminster. I know there's a Frankie & Benny's and a MacDonalds in the Weaver Wharf retail park but that's as far as it goes

Hi Lynn
There are a number of good restaurants and Pubs in the area. For listings across Worcestershire check out the following link :
local.mumsnet.com/worcestershire/on-the-high-street
I will be adding more to this as the weeks progress.
In terms of local to Kidderminster I would certainly recommend Frankie and Benny's in the town on Weavers Wharf and also the Watermill on the ringroad is quite nice and family friendly. If you are after smaller cafe's and tea rooms then you can't beat the Old Village Store in Wolverley for an afternoon tea or light lunch!

If you are after anything more specific then please get in touch and I will do my best to help, otherwise check out the local listings across the top of the page for "On the High Street" and "Services"
All the best
Fran x
