Loft conversion - sevenoaks. Any recommendations for builders or loft conversion specialists

we're looking to convert our loft. Has anyone converted their loft recently? Any recommendations of companies to use or avoid? We've come across space invaders ltd. Anyone used them? All advice or thoughts welcome, we're a bit stuck...

Hi, one of our friends recently used a company called WeDoThat for their loft conversion wedothat.net/ We are in the process of getting a quote from them but they seem very good from what I have heard! x

We used WeDoThat for our rear kitchen extension two months ago. They did a great job, the builders were lovely guys as well. We can recommend them Xx

I used Space Invaders and had to get the whole thing re done because it was dangerous and not constructed to specifications. Had to get architect and construction engineer in to put right their terrible work . They contracted out too despite saying they did not. My very strong advice would not to touch them with a barge pole. I know of another two conversions they did that went seriously wrong too. If you check they shut down Space Invaders Ltd and started Space Invaders Loft Conversions Ltd. FMB website also lists them as a company falsely using their logo I notice.

My friend had a very bad experience with space invaders, they built to the wrong specification and were awful to deal with.

It is strange that no bad reviews stay up for long. I wish someone had warned me.

I suspect now that a lot of companies use 'internet cleaning' lawyers who intimidate people in to removing bad reviews, it's a bullying tactic that I have seen used.

Very unfair and gives a false impression to potential consumers.

Space Invaders is highly recommended. They specialise in converting lofts.

I'm sorry to read other members experiences of Space Invaders. This has not been ours. We have recently completed a major loft conversion using this company and are very happy. We looked at several loft projects completed by this company and spoke to a significant number of their previous customers before engaging them. All the comments we received were very positive with one or two caveats as you would expect; no one is perfect. Not everything went according to plan with our conversion. When things did go wrong (two particular incidents come to mind) due to human error Space Invaders were very quick to acknowledge the issue, apologise and put things right quickly without any quibble at their expense. If a friend was looking to build a loft conversion then based on our experience we would be happy to recommend Space Invaders.

I wouldn't use them (Space Invaders) now; they may once have been ok but they over expanded and the quality nosedived. I have just had LOFT in to quote, and he seemed very knowledgeable and the initial quote was exactly where I was expecting it to be....but obviously we haven't used them, although I asked homeowners locally who were using them and they seem very happy....

We had space invaders do our loft conversion and we were very happy with them. The work was completed to a high standard and in a timely manner. Also all the workman were friendly and considerate, which is what we needed when having building work done with a newborn in the house! I would be happy to recommend them.
