Recommendation for loose covers

Our sofa is old but in great nick, but we really need new loose covers for it. The place we got it from can't do it as they were taken over and they lost our details, so I am hoping that a local upholsterer might be cheaper and less pushy than something like Plumbs. I am not expecting it to be cheap, but I would like to give the job to somebody local and independent if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

I am in the process of buying new loose covers for two two-seater sofas. The material I'm interested in costs £30 per metre (not cheap, but not that expensive) and the quote I have received is £2400 for the two sofas. I think you can get cheaper with Plumbs! There are probably a few people around who do upholstery but are only known by word of mouth, the upholsters you find on the net or Yellow Pages etc. tend to be rather expensive!
