I'm treating DH to a trip to see Harry Potter at the Palace Theatre in September. We never get the chance to go to London together especially without the kids so I'd like to stay somewhere walking distance of the theatre and have lunch and dinner nearby. The hotels look mega expensive so wondered if there was a local hidden gem (not AirBnB) which was worth what you pay for and under £150 please? Also would love restaurant recommendations not chain restaurants please. We enjoy Italian, tapas, steak, gastro pub that sort of thing. Somewhere good at lunchtime then a different place in the evening as the play is in 2 parts on the same day. We're not going for a while but I need to book now ish to get it off my conscience! Many thanks for your help Smile

Hi AlwaysWelcome,
we have some great looking hotels in Mumsnet Westminster's Hotel guide and not all of them are horrendously expensive. We like the look of the Z group which are dotted all over, incredibly central and boutique.

Also we do have some restaurants in our restaurant guide that are not just the sort of places you would go with the kids:

hope this helps Smile
