Moving to Hale area

Hi Everyone
We are now planning the details of our move from Dublin and we are looking at Hale as my husband is currently based from their Manchester office (he commutes home to Dublin every weekend). I have applied for schools as a late application through Trafford Council for my daughter as she will be 11 years when we move and starts year 7. The lovely lady in Trafford council I spoke with said we will get one of the schools in the area as they cannot refuse your child to attend school however it is nerve racking not knowing until July when we move. Has anyone else experienced this?
One further question we are taking our dog with us he is a senior dog and is no bother, but because we will be initially renting a lot of the agencies are stating no pets, some I have spoken to have said that it can be upto the landlord's discretion, although we do not mind paying a pet clause, has anyone experienced this?
Also I am nervous about the move bu excited too, we will be over for a visit in March to have a better look at Hale and surrounding areas.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Your DD will have missed the entrance exams for some of the schools and the alternatives are very over subscribed. The area is renowned as being good for schools so you should be OK whichever school she is offered.

Can I second what Mandy said. If you live in Hale you'll most likely be offered Altrincham College of Arts, Wellington or Knutsford. Wellington seems to be the most popular and oversubscribed but all three schools are good. You don't need to worry.
