Relocation to Harrogate Area

Hello,

My husband is possibly being offered a job in the Harrogate area and as a Mom I am on the hunt to find out more about the quality of life my children would have here. We currently live in the US and I have never even visited England. I just want to know how the Primary school education is and how welcoming every one is? Do American children do well in the state schools?

I look forward to hearing from some of you and learning more about the place you call home.

Hi Lindsay - I have a few US friends who are very happy with the state system here in Harrogate and have integrated well. There has traditionally been a big US population locally, with the Menwith Hill base, though that is reducing personel a lot. Most primary schools have a parent teacher association which arranges events, but a lot of socialising goes on at the school gates. Any idea where you will be based?
