Primary schools opinions?

Hello all,

I have recently relocated to the Plymouth city centre area. After an unforeseen set back with my daughters school application we had to accept one to secure a place for the start of the new term so she was not missing out on any education. After a few days of trying to adapt to the surrounding area (which is horrifically run down and deprived due to no fault of the school!) the school itself received great reviews on paper but after viewing it and attempting to accept it, my gut instinct is a massive no-no!!!!

Is anyone aware of any nicer schools than the City Centre itself? I am prepared to drive a little way out to make sure my daughter is getting the best start to her education and in a much better surroundings than where she is right now?! I am horrified and would greatly appreciate any feedback on any other schools right now?

Thank you for taking the time to read this post!

Hi, school places are quite tight here so you may have a tough time finding another school further away. Hyde park, Montpellier and Manadon Vale are three good schools that spring to mind but are not in the city centre.

My friends daughter went to St Andrew's primary which is city centre and she was very happy with it - have you tried there?

St.Andrews is near the city centre and meant to be great, also St.Georges which is near Devils Point.

My child is at Stuart Rd which is between Stoke and Millbridge. It's a good school and small numbers which is a bonus.

Which school have you been offered? I'm guessing high street or pilgrim
