Hello,

My daughter is in year 4 and while I know this is very soon but we are trying to figure out if we need to move houses to get her into a good secondary school

We are currently in the Netherhall / Trumpington Community College catchment. We were looking at Comberton and Sawston Village - schools and I don't know if we could make it into either one of those being out of the catchment.

Both of them have taken student from the area we live in and up to criteria 9 but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these schools and outside the catchment.

Thanks

This is a bit late (but in case you do read !). I went to the last open evening at Comberton and the head said that based on the amount of children in yr 6 catchment schools this year, that they would be able to offer a lot of places to out of catchment children too. I think this is mainly because of the new Cambourne school that is now open. Children in Cambourne were catchment for Comberton before but they now go to Cambourne (it's run by the same people as Comberton). So it's not oversubscribed like it used to be.

Thanks. We heard the same thing. My daughter is now in Year 5. We are hoping to apply to Comberton (1) then Sawston (2) next September. Haven't got a clue what to do with the third choice.
