Elutec

Hi ladies, I'm completely new to Mumsnet and completely new to this posting kinda thing - please forgive me if I'm being clumsy, jumping straight in.

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of Elutec, the new school (UTC) in Dagenham. Our son is currently in Year 9 at another school but we went to the open day and I'm in turmoil over whether it's a better option for him....

Any reviews would be so gratefully welcomed...

DfE have just published the provisional 2017 GCSE results - ELUTEC's first set of results. Well below average on Progress 8, 11% achieved a good pass in maths & English, 25% persistent absence - plus an inadequate - Grade 4 - OFSTED rating in March 2017. Massively under-subscribed so question marks over long term financial viability. Check out Michael Gove's article in The Times February 10th 2017.
