My name is Laura Lindsay and I am a 4th year Undergraduate student working on my fourth year honours project. I want to find out how children learn to predict when the person they are talking to is going to finish, so they can start speaking at the right time, without overlapping.
I'm looking for 3 year old children to take part in the experiment.
In the task, children play 4 simple maze games on an iPad where they have to follow an enemy round a maze. At certain decision points, the game will pause and the child will be asked about what way they should go in the maze. The child will be asked to answer yes or no to these questions, and their responses will be recorded.
The study takes about an hour and can place at our child-friendly lab at 7 George Square, Edinburgh or at your own home.
