Move to Altrincham

Hi all - we are planning to buy a property in welman way (near post office). any guidance on how good or bad the area is? anything to watch out for?

Hi. The area is very nice. It is close to a small local park and Stamford Park which has a lovely play area for primary age DC. It is also in the catchment for Stamford Park School which is a popular school.

Altrincham itself is still a bit dismal with lots of empty shops but the area around the market is thriving and things seem to be improving. Hale village is nice for restaurants and bars. Welman Way is very well situated only a few minutes walk from Altrincham, the station and the tram into Manchester. The only downside is that it is close to the football ground which can be a bit noisy on Saturday afternoons!
