seamuc13 · 09/10/2015 15:08

Hi,

I would love to meet other moms-to-be in the local area. I'm 35 and expecting in April 2016. It would be great to know someone who is going through a similar experience at the moment :). (I am also new to mumsnet)

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

Hello! I'm also due in April 2016! I'm 29 and live in St Margarets. Where abouts do you live? I've joined NCT and my first class is in February

seamuc13 · 28/11/2015 10:29

Hi Anneka1986

Congratulations :). Thanks for getting in touch! I live in Kew and also starting my first NCT class in February (in Kew). Where about's is your class? Let me know if you fancy meeting up some time :).

Hello again! Congratulations to you too! Do you know if you are expecting a boy or a girl? What's your due date? Mine is 19 April. Our NCT is in Twickenham. Would be great to meet up nearer to our due date! Maybe during maternity leave? Are you doing any other antenatal classes? I would like to do pregnancy yoga but I'm struggling to find a class near my house!

seamuc13 · 28/11/2015 11:51

Sounds good. Let's do it:). I am due April 10th or 15th (they got me down for both...). Yes I started pregnancy yoga but think that might be better for me when I am a bit further along (still feeling pretty fit at the moment.. Let's see how long that lasts Smile). A friend recommended maternally fit. I am going to try it out next Saturday (9am to 10am in Kew). These classes are offered in different locations.. So there might be one even closer to you Smile

Great! I'll get in touch nearer our due date..meeting in Richmond may be the best idea!

I'm desperate to find a good yoga class as my legs are already aching all the time. We've just had our 20 week scan and baby was all fine..such an amazing experience!

I'll look into the fitness classes - thanks for the tip!

Keep well and I'll be in touch in a few months!

I am glad to hear. Very exciting!!! We had ours last Thursday and all is well as well :). It is definitely an incredible experience :). Can't believe there isn't another scan and next time we will see the little one outside the belly - still feels like ages to go. Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl,? We are keeping the gender a secret at the moment until we have revealed it to our families. Will let you know.

I hear you! I used to go to yogahaven in Richmond up to week 13. My neighbour said they are now starting a pregnancy yoga class, so will check it out (they haven't advertised it on their website yet). Can let you know if you like.

You too. Keep well and take good care of yourself and the little one!

Sorry to interrupt folks.

Just a reminder to enter this competition which closes tomorrow! Only 3 entries so far so the chances are looking good!

Hi Mirja

Sorry for the late reply! Hope you had a nice xmas and happy new year! It's exciting to be in 2016 and closer to our due date!!

We don't know the gender. Will be a lovely surprise on the day!

I emailed yoga haven and they said they won't be doing pregnancy yoga. I did contact a woman in my area who is started pregnancy pilates but unfortunately it will be on Wednesday evenings so will class with NCT!

Hope you are feeling well!

Hi Mirja,

I'm 36 and expecting a baby girl for early May. I live in Mortlake and I'm also new to Mumsnet!

Have you tried Maternally Fit? I'm going to give it a try later on this month.

Take care,

Anne-Sophie

seamuc13 · 07/01/2016 07:28

Happy new year!!!! Hope you had a lovely Christmas as well and are having a good start into the new year. It is indeed very exciting. My hubby and I started to go a bit into nesting mode over the New Years weekend and rearranged rooms...

Anneka, sorry about my delayed reply as well. It is a shame that they don't offer it again (had my hopes up) & the Clapham yogahaven is just too far away... Decided to try going back to the regular classes when Prue is teaching. She is wonderful and very well trained in Pregnancy yoga (when I went there up to week 16) she would always give me alternatives and let me know separately what to do.. So now I feel a lot more confident about what my body can, should and should not do... Will give it a go again. Also I am still dancing (in the realm that is still possible and good for the baby and me). Feel like since the start of the pregnancy I have become more aware of my body... Let's see how it goes :). Wow as a surprise. It does sound lovely.. I was so impatient but at least I managed to surprise my family when revealing the gender over Christmas (they thought we didn't know).. :). There have been a few 'new' pregnancy side effects like heartburn and back pain (struggling with how to lay at night) setting in over the past two weeks but other than that I am feeling great. Hope you are feeling well as well!!

Anne-Sophie, thanks for joining :). Yes I have been doing maternally fit since mid-Dec and love it. Great workout!!! Trying to go twice a week now in Kew. Wish they would offer it even more times a week. Which classes are you thinking of taking? If you come to the ones in Kew, let me know :).

Take care and hope you are both well. Happy 2016

That's great! I'll be the new person with the French accent :)

sheendad · 21/01/2016 10:47

Hi there. Sorry to drop in, being an expectant dad, and all, but I thought I'd say hi. My wife and I will be starting NCT on King's Road on 2nd Feb, so do get in touch if you're coming to the same classes. First baby due on 25th March. We're just about to move from Kew down the road to the otherside of north sheen station (technically Richmond I think, but it feels like Sheen).

For those looking at pregnancy exercise thing, my wife has a great time at the 9am pilates session at Boomerang pilates on Sandycombe Road, Kew, on Saturdays. It is aimed at pregnant women and begginners to pilates. I think the instructor herself is something like 7 months pregnant!

Anyhow, I think my wife will be popping into this thread at some point to say hello as well, so I'll leave her to it.

AmyStrach · 02/02/2016 19:34

Hello,
I would really love to get to know some mums to be in the local area. My baby is due on the 21st April, and we are very excited.
Let me know if you are all arranging any meet ups in the future, it would be great to meet you all.
Hope you are all keeping well.
Amy

seamuc13 · 05/02/2016 09:37

Welcome Amy and sheendad,

Sorry been away traveling for work (my last time flying until baby gets here:)...). Yes it would be lovely to meet up.

Sheendad I am glad you joint in on the conversation as well. Looking forward to your wife joining as well. Thanks for the tip! On the pregnancy fitness front. I finally found the pregnancy yoga class that works best for me. Lulu Winfield is teaching it (at Parsons Green, Hammersmith and Chiswick). I have joint the Parsons Green group for now and waiting for a space to become available in Chiswick (so as of March will try to join the chiswick group as I am guessing it will get harder to get around by then?).

Where abouts do you live Amy?

Maybe we could all try to meet up some time in Richmond directly? What sort of time works best for you? I work freelance and slowly wrapping up / preparing for the little one, so I am fairly flexible.

Let me know what you think and who would be up for meeting :).

All the best

Mirja

Hello Mirja and all,
I live in Ham (and lecture at St Mary's university), so Richmond would be great for a meet up. I'm still working full time, but pretty flexible as students have Easter break for a long time (so I can do day time between the middle of March and middle of April!).
I currently go to Yoga in Kingston with a lovely lady called Maya (Yogawith) on Monday nights - I'd really recommend it.
My husband also wants to meet other new dads in the area.
Best wishes,
Amy

Anneka1986 · 21/03/2016 13:31

Hi all! Sorry I dont think I received any email to say that there had been new posts! I'm due to go on maternity leave this week and so will be free to meet up after Easter! Anyone free/interested? We could meet up for a coffee next week perhaps? Richmond seems best!!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Anneka x

AmyStrach · 21/03/2016 19:10

Hi all,
I'd love to go for a coffee in Richmond next week. I'm still working but I've got annual leave on 31st / 1st.
If it is nice weather, we could meet at Tide Tables cafe under Richmond bridge.
Enjoy your last week at work!
Amy

Anneka1986 · 21/03/2016 19:57

That sounds great. I can do either of those dates so whichever is best for everyone else! And that location is great for me! X

Anneka1986 · 29/03/2016 06:40

Hi all

Just wondered if people were still interested in meeting this week? I can only do Friday now. Amy.. I'm happy to still meet if no one else replies or we could postpone and meet when more people can make it?
Anneka x

AmyStrach · 31/03/2016 10:02

Hi all,
Hope you are all doing well. It would be great to meet on Friday! I'm working from home at the moment, so easy to walk in whenever is convenient.
How about sometime in the afternoon? Perhaps we can share a time and place and anybody can join who is around.
Take care,
Amy

Anneka1986 · 31/03/2016 10:46

Hi Amy

I'm still happy to meet. Shall we go for Tide Tables in Richmond at 12? I am free all afternoon though so let me know if another time suits.
Anneka x

AmyStrach · 31/03/2016 11:46

Great. 12 at Tide Tables Cafe.
See you there (and anybody else too). I am sure we will be easy to spot!

AnneSo79 · 31/03/2016 14:22

Hello!
Sorry for jumping in - I'm not on maternity leave yet so won't be able to meet on Friday, but I'm in Ham too Amy - whereabout are you? I live on the North Kingston side (Tudor Drive). My little girl is due on the 8th of May. We're new in the area so we are both keen to meet other new parents!
Have a great weekend,
Anne-Sophie
