Hello Smile

Welcome to Mumsnet Nottingham.

It would be lovely to be able to say hello properly to new posters. So do drop in and introduce yourself here and we can welcome you properly to the site (and to Nottingham if you're a recent arrival).

People have shown quite a bit of enthusiasm for local meet-ups (see the '...anyone free for a cup of tea' thread and others, down the board) and we've held a few. I'm always delighted to assist anyone who wants to use this board to arrange a local meet-up and will come along if I can make the date, so please, arrange away.

Instigating arrangements for meet-ups isn't my top priority though (that's looking after the web-site), so don't rely on me to set things up. Just go for it!

Happy chatting, meeting, browsing, checking out events and competitions - whatever you want to do here - welcome!

Hello! I have lived in Nottingham and North Nottinghamshire for nearly 20 years, but I am now a Mum to a little boy... Thought I could do with expanding my network to other Mums! My little fella is 2, and has approximately 8 times the energy that I do!!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 20/09/2016 16:42

Hi 2cats whereabouts are you in North Notts? I'm north Notts too with 4yo and not many mum friends either 😊

2catsandadog · 26/09/2016 11:06

I am in Kirkby in Ashfield.... Sorry not to get back to you sooner still working out the technology!! 😀 Whereabouts are you?

Hello,
I have just moved to Nottingham from London.
Have a 9yr old boy and am looking for any hints and tips for things to do in the centre of town. Especially whilst waiting for his school place to be assigned 😀

LocalEditorNottingham · 06/10/2017 10:42

Welcome Biblio78 Smile

Do take a look at our What's On listings for some ideas.

There's lots going on at the moment - Goose Fair this weekend, the Spiegeltent in Old Market Square, Dinosaurs of China until the 29th Oct, regular arty activities, all sorts of Half Term things coming up soon.

What are your son's interests?

Hi, please see my thread under the bullying tab - wonderful niece! We are in Nottm NG5/NG4. Thanks!

Biblio78 · 11/10/2017 21:16

Hello and thanks for getting back to my post!
My son loves dinosaurs, roblox and Lego. So I think we will check out the exhibition before it ends.
Have been making good use of the libraries, esp as have been told the school admissions team are working to a huge backlog and cannot say when he will be allocated a school place, despite the nearby schools having vacancies :/

LocalEditorNottingham · 12/10/2017 11:01

Hi Smile

Places that come to mind include the National Videogame Arcade, The Dice Cup (board game cafe), maybe the Industrial Museum (in the stables at Wollaton Hall)?

Dinosaur World is at the Theatre Royal from Friday - unfortunately you've missed our competition for tickets (on Facebook) but there may still be some for sale.

Only a week after this one to go until Half Term for City and County Schools (some private ones from this weekend) and City Half Term is two weeks, so there will be heaps to do, including a lot of free activities. Our What's On guide is great for those.

Best of luck with the school place. Do say if you'd like to discuss that with other posters - who may also have ideas about other things to do in the meantime.

Hello!

I’ve been living in Nottingham for 5 years now but I am new to mumsnet and just had my baby 4 months ago. I love every second of being a mum but sometimes I think I just need to confide/talk to people who have same experiences as me. Would love to meet other mums/mums-to-be. I live near City Hospital but would love to meet everybody here! :)

LocalEditorNottingham · 08/11/2017 22:33

Welcome cadbury825 Smile

We have some baby classes and meet-ups listed here plus Baby and Toddler Groups and other pre-school activities here. (You can use filters or search terms to narrow it down).

I'm a bit past the baby stage but fingers crossed some other newer mums will be along soon!
