PRIMARY SCHOOL ADMISSIONS IN CROYDON

Is it your turn to be thinking about a primary school for your pre-schooler?

The most important thing to do is to:

  • ensure you apply in time (in this instance, if your child was born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 you MUST apply by 15 January 2016 for a primary school place)
-use all SIX of your choices; you may not get your first choice and it's probably better if its you that makes the alternative choice rather than the Council.

Some schools also have supplementary forms to complete, especially religious schools so don't forget to obtain the correct form.

This handy guide from Croydon Council gives loads of information about the timetable for school applications and what you need to do to complete the process.

Lots of Mumsnetters have been through the process before so feel free to ask questions about specific schools.

Good luck!

Just bumping this thread as the deadline is just 8 days away. Do feel free to ask questions about local schools if you are not sure about your choices.

One of our neighbours sends her daughter there currently and is really quite happy with it. Haven't heard any negatives about it.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread in view of the primary schools offers being made to day. Best of luck to all of you anxious mums (and dads). Do come back to this thread to share your good news (hopefully that's all of you). If you don't receive the offer that you hoped, it can be useful to ask a question about the school that you did receive as there will be someone on here who has a child at that school.

Good luck!
