Primary schools in Saltaire

Hello,

It would be great if anybody could give me any information about primary schools in Saltaire (W. Yorks) as we are due to re-locate to the area and hope to live in the village itself. I have yet to contact the LEA about places. Bit nervous about making the call due to the anticipation of the schools being full. I will be doing that this week.

In the meantime, any pointers on which school(s) you recommend (or not) would be great.

Hey greennectarine! Welcome to our little bit of MN! Saltaire is a great place to live! Quite a few primary schools in the area. The nearest ones to the village being saltaire primary and St walburgas i think! A little way further towards shipley and baildon there are other schools too so quite a few to choose from. My dd is at Glenaire Primary which is just across the park from saltaire and we love it but have heard good things about the other ones too. When are you looking at moving? You may want to check there are places available before you set your heart on one as the schools are quite heavily subscribed. Feel free to ask if there's anything you want to know

Thank you for getting back to me Surpriseitsme! We are probably looking to move in the next 6 months or so. Yes, it seems that all the schools are chocka. Will have to hope for the best! Thanks for the feedback about Glenaire.

Welcome to the area. I have two children at Saltaire primary and they both love it. We aren't Catholic so never considered St Walburg. The head at Saltaire is great and it is a really caring school who do a lot with the children in and out of the classroom.

Both Saltaire Primary and Wycliffe C of E are good schools. Saltaire Primary is constantly oversubscribed and generally difficult to get into. It has a mixed intake of exceptionally capable kids from affluent families and challenging kids from disadvantaged backgrounds with all kinds of issues. Teachers and the head are great. Feel free to send a private message if you have specific questions.
