Moving to Eastbourne

Hello. We are moving to Eastbourne next week after having lived overseas for the past nine years. Children start at Bede's Prep and we are looking to rent (for now) near the school, preferably in the Meads area. We have done some rough budgeting based on guesstimates of summer holidays spent in the UK. I was wondering if I can have some local knowledge on how accurate our figures are.
So for a family of three (1 adult and 2 children), a 2-3 bed flat/house, and a cat:
Groceries: 500 pounds p/m;
small car: 500 p/m;
energy bills: 250 p/m (running the washing machine every other day, dishwasher up to twice daily etc.)
Does this sound doable?

That sounds pretty doable to me, obviously dependent on how much you are using your car etc.
