Hi mums

I need your help, I'm a mum of 4 and have 3 kids at Crookfur and unfortunately didn't manage to get my youngest in the same school this August. I'm looking for someone who may not have got a spot at Mearns primary and had to send their child to Crookfur. I know it's a long shot but if anyone is in this position then we could swap places.

Please let me know if you would be in a position to swap. Thanks. My email is [email protected]

Honestly, I doubt even if you did find someone, the schools may have people higher up on the waiting list and wouldn't allow it. It's appalling you have three there there can't be a anyone with more priority than you. I'd say. Arrange a meeting with head, then if no joy see local councillor. Were you late applying or is there any other reason they don't. Want to give. You a. Place? Good luck

unfortunately it doesn't work like this - you will not be allowed to swap places. If you were to find another a parents at Crookfur who wanted a place at Mearns then you would both need to make a placement request to ERC - this would then free up a place at each school. Whether you would both get the place would depend on whether there are any live placement request and where both parents would be on the priority list - you would be at/near the top but other parent might not be. Head Teacher and local councillor would be of no help - these matters are dealt with by education department and then by appeals panel (I am a member) but they/we are guided by the law and have very little flexibility.

Hello, We are relocating to Glasgow with 1 year old toddler and are trying to find any flats/houses in Newton Mearns/Giffnock/Clarkston where I heard good areas for family. I have found nice flat on Stewart Drive in Clarkston but have no idea if it's nice area to bring up family. The house was good but only downside is no allocated parking space:( Can anyone advise on it? Thanks in advance.
