feeling lonely in Horley

Hi, I moved to Horley in 2006 shortly after my husband and I got married. I don't really have any friends in the area aside from neighbours.. so it always feels a bit lonely. I work in London 4 full days a week and my husband takes our little boy (2.5) to nursery and picks him up so I never get to meet any of the mums there..

I have lost touch with a lot of my old friends and I don't particularly have a big family. I would so love to meet more people but just don't know how to go about doing it.. any ideas?

Hi Mrs Os, I'm moving to Haywards Heath from Perth, Australia next week and will be in the same boat. Have you thought of joining some sort of evening group, yoga or a bookclub perhaps?

I quite like the idea of a bookclub.. Just not sure where i would find one..

Hi Mrs Os - check out Meet Up - there are lots of great activities for people of all different ages (and not all mummy focused which is often a welcome break in our free time). Here is the link - bookclub.meetup.com/cities/gb/p6/horley/
I have been to a few in Brighton and they are always a good way to meet people - also most people go on their own, so you are all in the same boat at one time of other. Good luck.
