Planning Permission for Air con?

Do we need a planning permission to install an external body of an air con on the rear wall (not visible from the main road) facing the garden? The ext. body will be quite low and not close to our neighbours' bedroom, however they already started complaining. I could not find anything related on Bromley borough website.

I have not heard any feedback. We installed it. Let the neighbours complain! The external body looks better than their shed and is also quite low attached to the wall in the rear garden without being visible from the main road. It is also not noisy at all, so I think we should be ok on the legal site.
