Hi all, I am moving to Cambridge - CB4 - this summer and have two younger kids needing 2 days a week child care. It seems only nurseries with any spaces are Butterfly Day Nursery and Snap4Kids. Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about either of these? I am not going too be able to visit before signing up, but if they are both a bit grim I will seek a childminder! My middle girl is currently at a sweet nursery and I don't want to stress her and me out by just plonking her somewhere a bit bleak....any help gratefully received.

Cambridge Day Nursery, Clarence House and Chestnut Nursery spring to mind.

Sorry, have those no places?
My oldest went to Snap 4 kids many years ago and it was fine. Long time ago though.

Have you tried Chestnut nursery [same road as Clarence House].
Don't know what it is like as no experience of it.
Snap 4 Kids not grim as I recall it!

My DS has been at Chestnut for the last year 2 mornings a week and it seems good, he hasn't settled brilliantly but think that's a lot more to do with his personality than anything else. We quite liked the look of Snap 4 Kids but did hear some mixed reviews, particularly about the pre-school part and though the garden was shady it wasn't big and they had very set times to go in it so maybe not ideal if your DC like being outside a lot

Thanks for all this- I thought Chestnut was just A Pre- school but I will check it out. Yes, garden is important if possible!

My children have been at Cambridge Day Nursery on Milton road for 4 years between them and we love it. They currently have spaces - they had a huge building project which recently finished which I think put people off for a while. But now it's done they have a fabulous event outdoor area for the kids and nice inside space too.

Definitely worth a look.

My daughter has been at Chestnut for over a year - they are a nursery not just a pre-school. Good facilities and friendly staff, we're happy with it.
