Hi, I'm shortly to exchange on a property in Mortlake close to the East Sheen Primary school. I have trouble getting home insurance from the normal providers such as Aviva, Morethan, AXA when I do it online. All these insurers said they can't insure the house as it is identified as in area with flood risk. As far as I'm aware there has been no recoded incident of actual flooding. The nearest river is the Beverley Brook like 300m away. When I approach the specialist insurers the insurance quoted are all £500 and above. Does anyone have issued insuring their property? Any advice or experience you can share would be most appreciated. Thank you.
