The best brokers I have come across are London and Country - national and you do it all by phone/email -www.lcplc.co.uk/

Hi we've just used Stuart Nunn & Associates in town. Liz was fantastic - got us a great deal despite of our complicated circumstances. Even came to our house to sign forms etc.

Seconding London and Country--our advisor was Tristan Parker and we were happy with the deal he got us (though definitely look elsewhere for the various insurance packages they try to sell you, you'll find better options via the usual comparison sites). I've heard good things about Nationwide's mortgage advisors, if they have a mortgage that suits you and you're able to do it in branch.
