How do you make friends

I'm almost divorced (after 20 years) I've lived in Manchester for 1 1/2 years but know no one here except my mum. I have 3 children (23, 15, 10) finding it hard after living in a village down South to adjusting to living in a city. I go to a big church in Sale but no one talks to me there. I have no friends and am lonely. Where do I start to make friends?

Hi, are there any clubs you could join or do you like exercise and could join a class?
Something like the club 'spice' might be useful?

Volunteer. I've made lots of friends through Guiding, and the organisation is crying out for volunteers , as are most charities tbh.

Try 'spice' - great way to meet people. Volunteer on school PTA . Look up local 'meet up' groups. And volunteer - I have met tons of people through that route
