Churchfields beckenham

How bad is it? Quite damning ofsted. We're looking to move and often houses we can afford are in thus catchment. The alternative is Harris primary beckenham (?) which again if churchfields is bad may get an influx and be hard to get into?

I think because Harris beckenham is a brand new school I don't think it will be fully oversubscribed at first so catchment may be quite big.

Don't know much about churchfield although many people who have put that school down has put it further down on their list.

Interesting - especially as usually when I ask about a school on mumsnet usually at least one parent has a child there - maybe the lack of response is damning in itself ;-(

My dc is at Churchfields. We could have sent our children to a school with a better Ofsted but don't regret choosing Churchfields at all. We loved it as soon as we looked round. I think they were unlucky with the Ofsted (18 months ago). They lose quite a lot of the more able children in KS2 when parents move to the Langley catchments. That affects results but do check out the DfE performance tables as the results are pretty good and progress is superb. My other dc left Churchfields with level 5s across the board. It's also a really friendly school where the children are happy. Have a look around - but definitely don't rule it out.

So glad to get a response - I also heard it was a priority school for the borough to sort out. We probably couldn't afford to move twice and I've looked round the Langley end of beckenham but it feels far to suburban for me but would love opinions on that to

If your interested in Langley schools have you tried looking in Hayes and west wickham. Also Shirley but there is only one road and the roads off it that is catchment for Langley and that's orchard way
