Looking for an optician who can go the extra mile to help my son with possibly getting contacts. He is v keen to get them for sporting reason but last appointment with Specsavers he couldn't get within about two inches of his eye. He has sensory issues and has prob all got ASD as well.

Any very good experienced opticians who can give that bit of extra support?

A&I Lask on Chesterton Road. Very patient and helpful staff who are experienced at working with people with learning disabilities and autism.

The optician at the eye clinic at Addenbrooke is pretty good

But how would I get to see that optician, North? Is that a referral job?

I don't think so - its mostly people who go there have a prescription from the eye clinic but I don't think you need one

Thank you!

I have unusual eyesight and I have found Murphy's opticians on Maids Causeway excellent and very thorough. I don't know what they'd be like in your situation, but might be worth speaking to them and seeing if you get a positive vibe :)
