Househunting relocation advice

We are moving from abroad and hoping to buy a place - any suggestions on good people/companies to help find a home? We are leaning towards the Portobello area, or south of the Meadows.

We're only moving up next week and bought the first house we viewed, but our lovely solicitor offered to view properties for us as needed and generally has been amazing so I can pass you his details if that helps?
