looking for a new kitchen - how to choose a supplier

Hi can anyone advise on a kitchen supplier?
I have looked at Howdens - they were ok but really wish they had more stock on show as difficult to see what a kitchen will really look like.
I have also looked at Magnet and Wickes

Anyone recommend any independent kitchen suppliers in Merton, Croydon or nearby?
Looking at a gloss finish but not sure how durable this would be?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I can highly recommend the quality of Wickes kitchens, and the gloss finish I chose looks as good today as it was when it was fitted a couple of years ago. I decided to let Wickes do the whole job from design through to fitting as I was working FT and didn't have a lot of time to devote to dovetailing different deliveries, fitters etc. Altogether a very good service and all the units and appliances are still great.
